Arpana Moorjani is a powerhouse! Her strong bond with fashion has always been a means for her to express her uniqueness and narrate stories without using words.

Her fashion selections are both diverse and relatable, yet consistently stylish. Arpana is the Content Creator behind the exceptional fashion Instagram platform BragYourStyle. Her site is innovative, distinctive, daring, and highly editorial. It captivates you, making one eager to explore further, which is precisely the intention. While her content focuses on styling and presents her distinctive take on fashion, Arpana blends her Indian heritage aesthetic into her contemporary designs for a stunning statement that tells a story. Her passion for fashion and creating ensembles has fueled her current journey.

Arpana, originally from Chennai, India, has lived in the US for more than 25 years. Despite having a degree in banking, she doesn't have professional experience in that sector. Her enthusiasm and authentic passion for fashion began long before she became active on Instagram years ago. From hunting for the trendiest hot pink school backpack to working with tailors on her Indian attire and selecting the coolest accessories, fashion has always been integral to her identity. It was only in recent years that Arpana chose to showcase her fashion selections on Instagram, starting as a personal shopper and stylist, eventually moving to full-time content creation. "As a fashion content creator and stylist, I feel empowered to share my personal style with the world. Having the good fortune of thousands of followers proves that there is no age limit to pursuing your passion and chasing your dreams," Arpana mentioned. She collaborates with innovative and fun brands but always remains discerning to uphold her vision.

Gemma Magazine had the exciting opportunity to chat with Arpana about her fashion inspirations, her love for bold and rich looks, her position as a full-time content creator for BragYourStyle, and the pivotal role storytelling has in her work. Additionally, Arpana has just returned from the Vogue Business Global Summit, brimming with creativity.

She's incredibly inspiring to talk to, so let's dive in.

Can you share your journey into the fashion content creation space? What inspired you to start?

I’ve always had a deep connection with fashion—it’s been my way of expressing individuality and telling stories without words. My love for fashion and putting pieces together is what inspired me to start this journey. I began as a personal shopper and stylist, which shaped my understanding of how to curate looks that feel both personal and elevated. That foundation naturally led me into full-time content creation through my platform, BragYourStyle, where I share styling-driven content and my perspective on fashion. I am a stylist at heart, and while I’m currently focused on content creation, I’m open to styling projects that align with my aesthetic and creative vision.

I love how you fuse an Indian aesthetic into your personal style and content creation; you make it look effortless. Do you source your pieces frequently? Could you please expand on your process?

Thank you—that truly means a lot. Incorporating an Indian aesthetic into my style feels instinctive, but it’s also intentional. I’m deeply inspired by the richness of Indian textiles, craftsmanship, and colors, and I love reinterpreting those elements in a way that feels modern and editorial.

I do source pieces as part of my process, but always in an intentional way. Whether through collaborations, designer relationships, or personal investments, I focus on selecting pieces that align with my aesthetic and the story I want to tell—it’s less about frequency and more about intention.

My approach is rooted in curation rather than constant acquisition. I look for pieces with character—through fabric, silhouette, or cultural reference—and build looks around them, often mixing Indian elements with more contemporary styles to create a layered narrative.

Ultimately, everything I wear has to feel like an extension of my voice—effortless, but thoughtfully composed.

Who are your biggest influences and how do they shape your work?

My biggest influences come from a mix of timeless fashion icons, contemporary designers, and my own cultural heritage. As an Indian, I’m inspired by vibrant colors, intricate textiles, and rich storytelling, which I love incorporating into my content. I admire Norma Kamali, Diane von Furstenberg, and Sabyasachi Mukherjee for their bold, visionary approaches to fashion. These influences guide how I mix textures, colors, and silhouettes to create looks that feel both aspirational and authentic.

How would you describe your content for BragYourStyle?

I would describe my content as unique, bold, and highly editorial. On BragYourStyle, I showcase a diverse range of styling-driven looks, using fashion to tell stories and celebrate individuality. My goal is to create content that is visually striking, aspirational, and inspires confidence in anyone exploring their own style.

Can you describe your typical content creation process? How do you plan your posts or shoots?

My content creation process begins with inspiration—whether it’s a theme, a color palette, a piece of clothing, or a story I want to tell. I plan my shoots by curating outfits, selecting locations or backgrounds, and considering lighting and composition to ensure each post feels cohesive and visually striking. I also think about the narrative of the content—how each look fits into a broader story or aesthetic for BragYourStyle. While I plan carefully, I also leave room for spontaneity and creative experimentation, which often yields my boldest and most editorial looks.

What role does storytelling play in your work?

Storytelling is at the heart of my content. Each look I create is more than just an outfit—it’s a way to convey a mood, a personality, or a narrative that resonates with my audience. Through styling, colors, textures, and composition, I aim to create content that not only inspires but also invites viewers to see fashion as a form of self-expression and personal storytelling.

How do you balance your personal style with current trends for BragYourStyle?

I prioritize my personal style above all, using trends selectively to complement the looks I’m already drawn to. My content reflects what resonates with me—whether it’s bold colors, unique silhouettes, or editorial storytelling—so that each post feels authentic and true to my vision. Trends may inspire certain elements, but they never define my aesthetic; I aim to create content that is timeless, distinctive, and reflective of my own style voice.

How do you stay up to date on current fashion trends and industry changes?

I stay updated with fashion trends and industry changes by following designers, fashion weeks, and industry publications, while also keeping an eye on emerging talent and street style from around the world. I like to observe how trends evolve and interpret them in ways that align with my personal aesthetic, rather than blindly following them. This approach allows me to create content that feels current, editorial, and uniquely my own.

What feedback from your audience has influenced your content direction?

One of the most valuable pieces of feedback I’ve received from my audience is how much they appreciate the editorial, story-driven nature of my content. Many have shared that my bold styling choices and diverse range of looks inspire them to experiment and express their own personal style. This has encouraged me to continue pushing creative boundaries, exploring new aesthetics, and sharing content that is both aspirational and approachable. As a fashion content creator and stylist, I feel empowered to share my personal style with the world. Being fortunate enough to have thousands of followers proves that there is no age limit on following your passion and pursuing your dreams.

How would you define your target audience, and what strategies do you use to engage with them?

My target audience is fashion enthusiasts who appreciate bold, editorial, and styling-driven content. I engage them through visually striking posts, storytelling, and curated styling ideas that inspire individuality. Listening to feedback also helps me refine my content and explore new creative directions.

Do you collaborate with brands often?

Yes, I regularly collaborate with brands. That said, I’m selective and don’t take on every opportunity—I focus on working with brands that have a story and align with BragYourStyle's aesthetic and vision. I’m always interested in collaborations that feel authentic, creative, and inspire my audience.

How important is networking in the fashion content creation industry?

Networking is highly important in the fashion content creation industry. Building genuine connections with fellow creators, brands, stylists, and industry professionals not only opens doors to collaborations but also fosters learning and creative growth. I prioritize cultivating meaningful relationships that inspire new ideas and help me stay connected to the ever-evolving world of fashion.

What advice would you give someone who wants to become a fashion content creator?

My biggest advice would be to focus on developing your point of view before anything else. In a space that’s so saturated, what truly sets you apart is how you interpret fashion—not just what you wear.

Take the time to understand your personal style, experiment with it, and allow it to evolve. Don’t feel pressured to follow every trend or replicate what’s already working for others—authenticity is what resonates most.

Consistency and intention are key. Even if you’re starting small, approach your content with a clear vision—think about the story you want to tell and the mood you want to create.

Lastly, be patient with the process. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but if you stay committed to your vision and continue refining your craft, the right opportunities will follow.

Reading the post about Arpana Moorjani’s bold fashion statement, I liked how it highlights personal style as a form of confidence and self-expression. It reminded me of a college fashion day where I wore something simple but felt proud presenting it in front of others. I once used assignment help for finance students while handling a tough budgeting topic and learned how clarity matters in both study and style. It shows that expressing yourself well can build real confidence in life.
