MIAMI– LOUD Love of Urban Design® will host LOUD™ Week 2023 during this year’s Miami Art Week to spotlight and celebrate Black artists, exhibits and art initiatives represented locally and abroad featuring significant works inspired by Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America and beyond with a series of thought-provoking art activations, industry panels, brunch parties, social networking events, pop-up shops and a major fashion & art runway show from Dec. 2 - 9th, 2023 in Miami, Fla.


LOUD™ Week will provide unforgettable social vibes that creates the ultimate atmosphere for Black & Brown creatives during this year’s Art Basel/Miami Art Week with eight curated art and fashion events. This annual celebration of African, Caribbean, and Latin American art and culture will take place from Saturday, December 2nd to Saturday, December 9th, showcasing an eclectic mix of fashion, art and cutting-edge activations that will captivate the hearts and minds of art enthusiasts visiting Miami for Art Basel 2023.


The main fashion and art show hosted by LOUD™ during LOUD™ Week 2023 will include four new collections from local fashion brands including F + F GAINS Athleisure, COOL Creative, the House of Postiche, and South Florida Fashion Academy. “We’re excited to host a variety of events during the Art Basel season and celebrate the creatives of our culture. Our curated art, fashion and social events will bring together Miami’s top urban creatives and uplift cultural and artistic manifestations of the brown and black communities. LOUD™ is dedicated to hosting and producing events in Miami that enable urban creatives to thrive,” said Karine Melissa, founder and CEO of Love of Urban Design® (LOUD).


Celebrating art by emerging and internationally renowned Black and Afro-Latina artists and creatives in Miami is finally coming to the forefront of Art Basel thanks to LOUD™. “This year’s artwork and fashion from Black creatives inspired by Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America and social and economic equality. Guests who partake in this year’s LOUD™ Week events will discover captivating Black art while gaining insight to their stories and perspective in Miami’s vibrant metropolis. It’s our mission to expand and support the artistic landscape of the Black diaspora here in Miami,” Melissa said.


Over the past decade, LOUD™ has created a powerful Black art, fashion and culturally relevant community with a digital global reach of 2.3 million people. To date, the LOUD™ organization has produced renowned fashion and art events that spotlight and uplift local Black creatives based in South Florida. “Love of Urban Design has spent the past 10 years fostering a platform, community and resource center for Black creatives and this year’s Miami Art Week events will be the biggest and best thus far,” Melissa said.


This year’s LOUD™ Week event schedule will feature Black and Afro-Latina creatives from Miami and Atlanta that are impactful and pivotal change makers and culture leaders in Miami and beyond. This year is particularly special because LOUD Love of Urban Design® is an official ART of Black event with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau to help scale and uplift this year’s series of Black art exhibits and events. “Our LOUD™ Week events are a part of the official Art of Black events celebrated by the GMCVB and we’re ecstatic to be working with one of Miami’s biggest and most noteworthy organizations to further elevate our events and artists,” Melissa continued.


This year’s LOUD™ Week will also include a charity fundraiser for Fashion For Charity in which LOUD™ will donate a portion of event proceeds that will ultimately enable fashion turning into a force for good that supports programs and resources for local fashion designers and creatives.

Live curated music will be provided by Girls Make Beats (Non-profit empowering girls to become the next generation of female DJs and producers). Brunch provided by celebrity Chef Erin Hawkins.
