A New Way to Book Beauty: The BeautyFindr App with Founder AnnaBeth Guillory

What is a girl supposed to do? While visiting my family in Louisiana, I urgently needed a blow-dry for an important family event. My hair was in dire condition, and to my surprise, every salon I contacted was fully booked! It was the Christmas holiday, which made things difficult and highlighted the beauty industry's popularity and competitiveness. Then I discovered an amazing, innovative solution I hadn't tried before—the BeautyFindr App! The exciting and efficient app was founded by beauty industry entrepreneur AnnaBeth Guillory of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Within 20 minutes of downloading the app (which is very user-friendly), I secured an appointment for my blow-dry. The salon was only 10 minutes from my parents' home, and the result was beautiful. Honestly, the entire experience was fantastic. Even better, I still communicate with the talented hairdresser who styled my hair for hair and beauty advice on the BeautyFindr website feed, beautyfindr.com as well as the app.
What is BeautyFinder??
BeautyFindr is a cutting-edge app that links beauty enthusiasts with beauty professionals. It serves as a platform to find and book the ideal beauty expert suited to your style, schedule, and location, allowing you to handle your beauty appointments on your own terms. BeautyFindr offers services in Hair, Makeup, Skin, Lashes, Tanning, and Permanent Makeup.
The app also lets you become part of a beauty community, locate nearby professionals, read reviews and ratings, book appointments instantly with the option to pay later, and access exclusive deals and offers. You can book using the Classic Request option or the newly introduced Concierge service.
The app is free for clients seeking services and is intended for them to visit the business; however, clients can also request that the beauty professional comes to their location. Unlike other booking apps, BeautyFindr allows clients to submit a service request that alerts a broad network of beauty experts, removing the need to browse through professionals' profiles and schedules. Available professionals can then make offers to the client, who selects the professional they wish to book with.

This marks a significant moment for the brand, as she has just introduced BeautyFindr 2.0. We delve into her updated app, her previous experience in the beauty industry, her sources of inspiration, and how she is building a beauty community.
Let's dive in!
What inspired you to create BeautyFindr?
As a salon owner for almost a decade, I saw gaps in the industry. Even with all the beauty booking platforms available today, salons still go out of business within 5 years, and many newly licensed professionals leave the industry within 2 years. The core issue is not having enough clients to build a sustainable business. But the problem exists on the client side as well.
The beauty industry is highly fragmented, and there is no single platform connecting professionals across the industry. As a result, clients are forced to navigate multiple booking systems and search individual schedules just to book an appointment.
If they don’t already have a professional in mind, the process becomes even more difficult—spending time searching, calling, and messaging to find someone who matches their style and schedule. For clients, the experience is inefficient and time-consuming.
On a personal note, I was canceled at the last minute because the stylist was sick right before my maternity pictures and gender reveal party. I was literally in the salon's parking lot when they called to cancel. I was so frustrated. I tried to find another stylist in time, and I was not successful. I remember in that moment feeling like, " Why is it SOOO hard to connect with beauty professionals in today’s world, with literally everything being at your fingertips, especially if you need to book an appointment last minute or if you are having a beauty emergency. Also, when I owned the salon, we would have brides call us the day of their wedding in tears, looking for a stylist at the last minute. That is why I created the SOS request.
Sometimes people just want services at the last minute, and our salon was full, so the client would have to call another place to see if they had availability. With BeautyFindr, a client can send a service request to a large network of professionals in less than a minute and book with a professional of their choice.
Also, I remembered the first year we opened our salon, I wished something like BeautyFindr existed and even searched for it online. Primarily because I wanted more people to know we existed and to have a way to access more new clients. Over the years, I just kept seeing the need for BeautyFindr for both professionals and clients. Through all these experiences, I wanted to revolutionize how clients and professionals connect. Finally, in 2023, I started development, and in 2024, we launched our first MVP in the app store.
How did you come up with the name? I know that can be tricky.
The name came from the real problem I kept experiencing myself, and also saw as a salon owner—people were constantly trying to find the right beauty professional and availability without an easy way to do it. BeautyFindr felt like the simplest, clearest way to represent what we do: making beauty discovery and connection easy.
How do you envision the app changing the beauty industry?
I envision BeautyFindr changing the beauty industry by becoming the platform that finally connects clients and beauty professionals in one place. Today, the industry is incredibly fragmented, with clients often searching across multiple apps, websites, social media pages, and booking systems just to find the right professional. We built BeautyFindr to simplify that entire experience.
For professionals, it becomes a true client-acquisition engine—helping them get discovered by new clients, showcase their work, expand their network of potential bookings, and ultimately grow revenue. For clients, it makes finding, requesting, and booking beauty services easier, faster, and more personalized. They have access to a large network of professionals at their fingertips, exclusive deals, and a beauty community where inspiration and connection happen naturally.
The bigger vision is to become the platform that connects all beauty professionals and clients, regardless of what booking system they currently use. BeautyFindr brings discovery, inspiration , community, and booking together in a way the industry has been missing.

What is your core mission with BeautyFindr?
To connect clients and beauty professionals through a community-driven platform that makes discovering, requesting, and booking beauty services easier—while helping professionals grow their brand, revenue, and careers.
What unique features does BeautyFindr offer compared to competitors?
We have not found any direct competitors for BeautyFindr.
BeautyFindr operates in a different category than traditional beauty booking platforms.
Most platforms focus on business management—appointments, calendars, and payments, while we focus on client acquisition and discovery.
Our app also helps professionals get discovered and attract new clients, while traditional booking software helps professionals manage the clients they already have.
BeautyFindr generates demand. Traditional booking platforms manage it. We believe Beautyfindr is THE missing piece for these other beauty booking platforms.
The platform was recently rebuilt with AI-native technology and designed to be client-centric, making it simple and frictionless for clients to discover professionals, get inspiration, request services, and book appointments.
BeautyFindr also offers a social beauty community, allowing professionals to showcase their work while clients connect with friends and share beauty inspiration. In addition, our founding feature—Make a Request—allows clients to submit a service request and receive multiple offers from professionals, creating a unique marketplace experience unlike traditional booking platforms.
There are several ways for professionals and businesses to get discovered and booked by clients on BeautyFindr. Clients can submit service requests, book with pros they love, rebook previous pros, book through deals, or discover pros directly in the feed.
This is a new feature we’re really excited about—our AI-powered Beauty Concierge.
Clients can simply tell the AI chat what they’re looking for, and it will instantly match them with the professionals—making it the fastest way to submit a service request on BeautyFindr.
"I envision BeautyFindr changing the beauty industry by becoming the platform that finally connects clients and beauty professionals in one place. Today, the industry is incredibly fragmented, with clients often searching across multiple apps, websites, social media pages, and booking systems just to find the right professional. We built BeautyFindr to simplify that entire experience." (AnnaBeth Guillory)
What strategies do you use to engage and retain users?
Providing an easy, frictionless experience has led to 87% of users returning to make additional requests, showing strong early engagement and demand once clients begin using the platform. We now also offer a direct book and rebook option, so clients can easily book with a professional they love. Clients and Professionals can follow each other, creating a stronger community.
What marketing strategies have been most effective for your app?
When we initially launched in Baton Rouge, I focused heavily on PR, speaking opportunities, and collaborations with other local businesses that already served a similar target audience and had strong trust within the community. I also spoke to several LSU sororities and truly never passed up an opportunity to share the BeautyFindr story.
For early professional acquisition, I found that a highly personal, door-to-door approach worked best. In the beginning, building trust market by market was critical. Once we reached a critical mass of professionals in a local market, the network effects naturally began to take hold—professionals invited other professionals, and clients started discovering and sharing their favorite pros, which drove organic growth.
As we scale, our go-to-market strategy has evolved to focus more on social media, affiliate partnerships, and digital community-building to attract both clients and beauty professionals.
What are your future goals for BeautyFindr?
The future goal for BeautyFindr is national scale—becoming the go-to platform where clients and beauty professionals connect across the country. Although anyone can join today, our vision is to grow market by market by building thriving local beauty communities made up of both professionals and clients in every market we enter.
As we scale, clients can continue to use the platform not only to discover and book professionals, but also to get beauty inspiration, follow their favorite pros, and stay connected to the larger beauty community. For professionals, the opportunity goes beyond bookings—it’s a place to grow their brand, build their following, showcase their work, and attract new clients at scale.

How do you balance your professional and personal life, given your many responsibilities?
Balancing it all can definitely be challenging at times, and it takes a lot of focus, discipline, and intentional structure. I’m naturally an early riser during the week, which gives me uninterrupted time to think, create, and stay ahead. It also often means working on weekends, but I genuinely love building, creating, and developing ideas—it fills my cup and challenges me to think differently.
What helps most is that I don’t really see it as completely separate. My family is very much part of the journey, and I intentionally incorporate what I’m building into our life together. Whether that’s sharing milestones, bringing them into the excitement of what we’re creating, or simply letting them be part of the bigger vision, it feels less like balance and more like alignment.
Operationally, I rely heavily on structure. I follow a weekly schedule that helps me stay on top of priorities across both BeautyFindr and my executive leadership role. I’m also fortunate to have a strong team around me, which is critical because it allows the work to scale without everything falling solely on me. For me, it’s less about separating work and life and more about building a life where family, purpose, and growth can coexist.
Is there anything else you would like to share about your journey or the app?
BeautyFindr launched in the App Store in 2024. Today, we have over 200 professionals on the platform and more than 3,000 clients, with over 2,500 service requests submitted.
What excites us most is that 87% of users return to make additional requests, showing strong early engagement and demand once clients begin using the platform.
Our initial focus has been on South Louisiana, but we’re already seeing organic national growth.
Professionals have joined BeautyFindr in 16 additional states, including Los Angeles and New York City, and clients have submitted requests from 18 states and over 140 zip codes.
This shows strong early traction on both sides of the marketplace.
After getting feedback, we found that clients wanted more ways to book and both wanted a stronger community. So we rebuilt the technology—developing an AI-native website designed to improve discovery and help professionals attract new clients. That platform launched in February of this year. We launched on Google Play for the first time on April 1st.
The platform has evolved into an AI-native beauty discovery and community platform that connects ready-to-book clients with beauty professionals, making it easy to discover, create, and book beauty services all in one place.
